Value of primary tumor resection before chemotherapy in CRC with synchronous unresectable metastases

The multicenter phase 3 study JCOG1007 in Japan evaluated resection of the primary tumor (PTR) in patients with asymptomatic primary colorectal cancer and synchronous unresectable metastases. PTR followed by chemotherapy did not result in survival benefit compared with chemotherapy alone.
