Upfront peptide receptor radionuclide therapy versus chemotherapy or targeted therapy for EP-NETs
Prof. Filippo de Braud
Data about the optimal timing for the initiation of peptide radionuclide therapy (PRRT) for advanced, well-differentiated enteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (EP-NETs) are lacking. A multicenter retrospective cohort study in Italy compared PRRT versus chemotherapy (CT) or targeted therapy (TT) for advanced EP-NETs with disease progression after treatment with somatostatin analogues. The progression-free survival
was significantly improved with upfront PRRT compared with CT or TT. There was no signficant difference in overall survival between the two groups.
