Updated results from ADAURA trial of adjuvant osimertinib versus placebo for EGFR-mutated stage IB-IIIA NSCLC
Prof. Masahiro Tsuboi
The phase 3 ADAURA primary analysis demonstrated a clinically significant DFS benefit with adjuvant osimertinib versus placebo in EGFR-mutated stage IB-IIIA NSCLC after complete tumor resection (HR 0.20; p<0.001). Updated results, after two years of additional follow-up, showed prolonged DFS benefit with osimertinib versus placebo among patients with stage II-IIIA disease (panel A) and among all patients (panel B). The osimertinib group had reduced risk of local and distant recurrence and improved CNS DFS. The long-term safety profile of osimertinib was consistent with the primary analysis. The authors conclude that these results support the use of adjuvant osimertinib in resected EGFR-mutated NSCLC.
