The optimal time to deliver adjuvant chemotherapy for early-stage breast cancer has not been defined. A retrospective study in the Royal Marsden Hospital (London) compared outcomes after commencing anthracycline and/or taxane chemotherapy <31 days versus ≥ 31 days after surgery. There was no difference between both groups in five-year OS in the overall population. However, among the TNBC patients OS was significantly worse in patients who received chemotherapy ≥31 versus <31 days after surgery (HR 2.18; p=0.02).
