The CHAARTED trial investigated addition of docetaxel to androgen deprivation therapy among patients with metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer. Ten-year follow-up found that patients with high volume disease had a significant overall survival benefit from addition of docetaxel to ADT. PSA nadir < 0.2 ng/ml at 6 months was associated with improved OS in both treatment arms, independent of baseline prognostic variables, supporting its role in response-adapted de-escalation strategy studies.
