The phase 3 OVHIPEC-1 trial previously showed that addition of hypothermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) to interval cytoreductive surgery (CRS) resulted in improved progression-free survival and overall survival among patients with advanced ovarian cancer at 4.7 years follow-up. Final survival analysis of the study after 10 years follow-up confirmed that both progression-free survival and overall survival were significantly better with CRS + HIPEC compared with CRS alone.
