Temporal trends in incidence and mortality of colorectal cancer in Denmark from 2007 to 2022
Dr. Anders Kindberg Boysen
A nationwide retrospective study in Denmark investigated temporal trends in incidence
and mortality of colorectal cancer from 2007 to 2022. From 2007 to 2013 the ASIRs were relatively stable. Coinciding with the implementation of the national screening program in 2014, the ASIRs increased, followed by a decrease to below pre-screening levels in the following years. Median survival times were 4.1 years for patients diagnosed between 2007 and 2010, 5.3 years for patients diagnosed between 2011 and 2013, and 7.6 years for patients diagnosed between 2014 and 2017. Use of mutational and molecular profiling increased consistently during the study period.
