Systematic review of population-level changes in survival of metastatic breast cancer since 1995
Prof. Sally Lord
Advances in breast cancer care have reduced mortality, but their impact on survival once diagnosed with metastasis is less well described. A systematic review of population-based cohort studies of de novo metastatic breast cancer (dnMBC) or recurrent metastatic breast cancer (rMBC) found that since 1995 improvements in overall survival have been reported for patients with dnMBC but not rMBC, and not for older MBC patients (70 years and older).
