Survival in male breast cancer over the past three decades
Dr. José Leone.
Breast cancer mortality in women has declined significantly over the past several years. In men, it is unclear whether survival has changed over time. Analysis of male breast cancer data in the SEER database found no improvement in five-year breast cancer-specfic survival among men from 1988 to 2017, while the improvement in five-year overall survival was consistent with increasing life expectancy in the general population. The authors conclude that efforts to improve BCSS in MaBC are warranted.
