Subsequent treatments beyond progression on osimertinib in EGFR-mutated NSCLC and leptomeningeal metastases
Prof. Yi-Long Wu
A retrospective study in China revealed site-specific osimertinib resistance mechanisms and investigated subsequent treatment for leptomeningeal metastases from EGFR-mutated NSCLC. Detection of alterations in cerebrospinal fluid at progression on osimertinib enabled choice of targeted therapy
in 22 of 81 patients, of whom 16 (72%) had clinical response. The median overall survival was 7.2 months. In the 59 of 81 patients without available matched therapy, continuing osimertinib with intensification strategy prolonged survival versus switch therapy.
