Single-center study of real-world outcomes with furmonertinib for lung adenocarcinoma with EGFR exon 20 insertion mutations

A retrospective study at Henan Cancer Hospital of Zhenghou University found that among real-world patients with lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), 2.44% harbored EGFR exon 20 insertion mutations. Furmonertinib at 240 mg/d for these patients resulted in objectiver response rate 52.4% and disease control rate 100%. The median progression-free survival was 6.15 months and the median overall survival was 21.67 months. Among previously untreated patients the median PFS was 21.19 months (versus previously treated HR 0.15; p<0.001) and the median OS was not reached (HR 0.28; p=0.023). No patient discontinued furmonertinib because of adverse events. The authors conclude that among real-world LUAD patients with EGFR ex20ins, furmonertinib was active and well-tolerated.
