Single-center retrospective study of impact of TP53 co-mutation on outcomes of resected early-stage EGFR-mutated lung adenocarcinoma
TP53
co-mutation is one of the poor prognostic factors in advanced EGFR-mutated adenocarcinoma, but its impact in resected early-stage lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) remains unclear. A retrospective study at Shikuoka Cancer Center (Japan) included 121 patients with resected EGFR-mutated early-stage LUAD, and found that TP53
co-mutations (18.2% of patients) were associated with increased lymphovascular invasion, worse recurrence-free survival, and worse overall survival. The authors conclude that TP53
co-mutations negatively impact prognosis in resected early-stage EGFR-mutated LUAD.
