Single-center phase 2 trial of neoadjuvant FLOT versus SOX chemotherapy for locally advanced gastric cancer: secondary outcomes
Dr. Birendra Kumar Sah
A phase 2 trial at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (China) compared neoadjuvant FLOT versus SOX chemotherapy for locally advanced gastric cancer. Long-term results of the trial have now been published. Both disease-free survival
and overall survival were not significantly different between the two groups. Grade 3-4 hematological toxicity occurred in 22.5% of FLOT patients and 14.7% of SOX patients. One treatment-related death (2.9%) occurred in the SOX group. The authors conclude that both neoadjuvant FLOT and neoadjuvant SOX resulted in favorable outcomes among patients with locally advanced gastric cancer.
