Single-center phase 1 study of sapanisertib in combination with ziv-aflibercept in patients with advanced solid tumors
Dr. Niamh Coleman
Sapanisertib is an inhibitor of mTORC1/2, and ziv-aflibercept is an antiangiogenic fusion protein. A phase 1 trial at MD Anderson Cancer Center (Houston, TX) evaluated the combination of both agents in 55 patients with advanced solid tumors. Forty patients were female (73%), the median aget was 62 years (range 21-79), the ECOG performance status was 0 or 1, and the median number of prior lines of therapy was 4 (range 2-11). The combination was generally tolerable, without grade 5 events, and resulted in disease control rate of 78%.
