Retrospective study of second-line lenvatinib after first-line atezolizumab-bevacizumab for unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma
Based on results of IMbrave 150, the combination of atezolizumab and bevacizumab is a first-line option for unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (uHCC). An effective second-line regimen after failure of atezolizumab-bevacizumab has not yet been established. A retrospective study at Hiroshima University (Japan) evaluated lenvatinib in this setting. The objective response rate (RECIST) was 33.3%. The median progression-free and overall survival were 4.0 months and 15.3 months, respectively. Adverse events were manageable. The authors conclude that lenvatinib after atezolizumab-bevacizumab was an effective treatment option.
