Retrospective study of outcomes with subsequent treatment regimens after trastuzumab deruxtecan for metastatic breast cancer
Dr. Paolo Tarantino
Most patients with metastatic breast cancer (mBC) are eligible for treatment met trastuzumab deruxtecan (T-DXd), but no data are available to guide treatment after exposure to T-DXd. Retrospective analysis of a USA-wide electronic health record-derived, deidentified database found that post-T-DXd treatment outcomes differed significantly by mBC subtype (p<0.001) and by type of regimen administered (p<0.001), with median real-world progression-free survival ranging from 2 months to 6.7 months. The use of sacituzumab govitecan immediately after T-DXd was associated with relatively short median rwPFS across subtypes, suggesting some degree of cross-resistance with T-DXd.
