Retrospective cohort study of pembrolizumab monotherapy for diffuse malignant peritoneal mesothelioma
Dr. Melina Marmarelis
Pembrolizumab has activity in diffuse pleural mesothelioma, but the activity of pembrolizumab for diffuse malignant peritoneal mesothelioma (DMPM) is not clear. A retrospective cohort study at the University of Pennsylvania and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center evaluated pembrolizumab monotherapy for DMPM. Pembrolizumab had clinical activity for DMPM (response in 21% and stable disease in 53%) regardless of PD-L1 status or histology, although patients with nonepithelioid histology may have experienced additional benefit. Median overall survival was 20.9 months.
