Despite the adoption of perioperative chemoimmunotherapy for resectable NSCLC, clinical data on its use and outcomes remain limited. A retrospective cohort study using the Flatrion Health database found that among 1334 patients with stage II to IIIA NSCLC who received perioperative chemo-immunotherapy, the distant metastasis-free survival rates at 18 months were favorable (80% in the neoadjuvant treatment cohort and 83% in the adjuvant treatment cohort). The use of chemo-immunotherapy increased over time but remained under 30% of eligible patients. The authors conclude that there is a critical need to address barriers to broader adoption of perioperative chemoimmunotherapy.
