Retrospective cohort study of adjuvant palbociclib after complete resection of retroperitoneal liposarcoma
Dr. Valerie Grignol
Retroperitoneal liposarcomas (RPS) are locally aggressive and frequently recur following complete surgical resection. A retrospective cohort study at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (Columbus) evaluated adjuvant palbociclib (CDK4/6 inhibitor) after complete resection of RPS. Compared with historical controls, patients receiving adjuvant palbociclib had a trend of longer recurrence-free survival. The authors conclude that after complete resection of RPS, adjuvant palbociclib may be associated with a prolonged interval between resection and the need for re-resection or other systemic therapy.
