Retrospective clinicopathologic study of secretory breast carcinoma

Secretory breast carcinoma (SBC) is a rare malignancy (approximately 0.015% of breast cancers). A retrospective study in China found that triple-negative (TN) SBC is a unique entity with better prognosis than non-TN-SBC and triple-negative invasive ductal carcinoma. Advanced N-stage, high lymph node ratio (LNR), and advanced histological grade are adverse determinants of disease-free survival in SBC. Adjuvant chemotherapy provides superior disease-free survival in high-LNR SBCs rather than TN-SBCs.
