The optimal time to initiation of adjuvant chemotherapy (TTAC) for triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is unclear. A retrospective analysis of TNBC patients registered in the Tumor Center Regensburg (Germany) investigated the association between TTAC and overall survival in TNBC. The median TTAC was 29 days, and the mean OS was 9.3 years. The group with TTAC 22 to 28 days had the longest survival, with median OS 10.2 years. Groups with TTAC 29-35 days, 36-42 days, and longer than 42 days had median OS 8.3 years, 7.8 years, and 6.9 years, respectively. The figure shows the OS of the groups with TTAC 42 days or less versus longer than 42 days. The authors conclude that timing of adjuvant chemotherapy can influence the OS in TNBC patients.
