Real-world treatment drop-off among recurrent or metastatic cervical cancer patients
Prof. Bradley Monk
Understanding real-world treatment patterns and proportions of eligible cancer patients in each line of treatment is important. A retrospective observational cohort study
found that among US women initiating first-line therapy for recurrent or metastatic cervical cancer, the median time to treatment discontinuation was 3.5 months. More than half of these patients did not receive second-line therapy. Among patients who did, the median treatment-free interval was 2.1 months. The authors conclude that these data highlight the need for novel treatment options.
