Randomized study of addition of panitumumab to maintenance therapy for RAS wild-type mCRC
Prof. Dominik Modest
The multicenter randomized PANAMA trial in Germany evaluated addition of panitumumab to maintenance therapy with fluorouracil and folinic acid (FU/FA) in patients with at least stable disease after induction therapy with panitumumab, oxaliplatin and FU/FA for RAS wild-type metastatic colorectal cancer. The PFS of maintenance therapy was 8.8 months with panitumumab and FU/FA versus 5.7 months with FU/FA alone (HR 0.72; p=0.014) while the overall survival was numerically better with addition of panitumumab (28.7 versus 25.7 months; p=0.32).
