Randomized phase 2 trial of addition of reirradiation to bevacizumab for recurrent glioblastoma

Radiation plays an important role in the initial treatment of brain tumors, but the role of reirradiation in recurrent glioblastoma is not clear. The multicenter randomized phase 2 NRG Oncology/RTOG1205 trial found that among patients with recurrent glioblastoma addition of reirradiation to bevacizumab was safe and well tolerated, and resulted in elongation of PFS but not OS.
