Pyrotinib plus capecitabine versus lapatinib plus capecitabine for HER2-positive MBC

The multicenter phase 3 PHOEBE trial in China evaluated pyrotinib-capecitabine versus lapatinib-capecitabine for HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer after trastuzumab and taxanes. The median PFS was 12.5 months in the pyrotinib group versus 6.8 months in the lapatinib group (HR 0.39; p<0.001). The toxicity was manageable.
