Prospective study of PET-adapted regimen for advanced HL: impact on gonadal function recovery

The prospective, randomized AHL2011 trial demonstrated that among patients with advanced Hodgkin lymphoma, use of ABVD after two cycles BEACOPP_escalated was safe and effective in patients with PET-evaluated early response, and minimized toxicity compared with standard 6 BEACOPP_escalated cycles. A substudy of AHL2011 investigated the benefit of this strategy for gonadal function and fertility in patients younger than 45 years. The substudy showed that the PET-driven strategy decreased the risk of gonadal dysfunction and infertility.
