Predictive value of pretreatment pan-immune-inflammation value for outcomes of neoadjuvant immunochemotherapy for ESCC

The pan-immune-inflammation value (PIV) reflects the balance between host immune and inflammatory status. PIV is a readily available index for evaluating cancer outcomes. A retrospective study at Zhejiang Chinese Medical University (Hangzhou, China) found that among patients with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC), pretreatment PIV can predict therapeutic response and clinical outcomes of neoadjuvant immunochemotherapy (NICT). The authors conclude that PIV is a novel, sensitive, and effective indicator for ESCC patients receiving NICT.
