Post hoc analysis of impact of anthracyclines in genomic high risk, node-negative, HR-positive/HER2-negative breast cancer
Dr. Frederick Howard
The benefit of anthracyclines for breast cancer patients with high-21-gene recurrence score (RS) is unclear. Post hoc analysis of the multinational TAILORx study compared outcomes with adjuvant taxane/cyclophosphamide chemotherapy (TC) versus taxanes plus anthracyclines/cyclophosphamide (T-AC) among patients with node-negative, HR-positive, HER2-negative breast cancer with RS ≥ 31. T-CA versus TC was associated with improved distant recurrence-free interval and distant recurrence-free survival and a trend towards improved overall survival. Spline regression demonstrated increasing anthracycline benefit with increasing RS (graphical abstract).
