Pooled analysis of long-term survival with first-line nivolumab plus ipilimumab for advanced non-small cell lung cancer

Pooled analysis of 4 trials investigated response to and survival with first-line combination of nivolumab plus ipilimumab among patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (n=1332). The analysis found durable efficacy of the regimen. Durable responses and long-term survival benefit with NIVO + IPI were observed across PD-L1 expression levels and histologies. Patients who had a response at 6 months with first-line NIVO + IPI had improved post-landmark survival benefit. Responders with higher tumor-burden reduction from baseline derived long-term OS benefit. The authors conclude that the analysis supports use of NIVO + IPI as first-line treatment option for aNSCLC.
