Phase 3 trial of methylcobalamin for capecitabine induced hand-foot syndrome in patients with HER2 negative early breast cancer

A phase 3 trial in China evaluated oral methylcobalamin for hand-foot syndrome (HFS) in women receiving adjuvant capecitabine for early breast cancer. Methylcobalamine compared with placebo significantly lowered the incidence of grade ≥ 2 HFS and rates of discontinuation of capacitabine because of HFS. The incidence of any other adverse events was similar in the two groups (visual abstract).
