Phase 3 study of first-line sintilimab plus platinum and gemcitabine for advanced squamous NSCLC

The phase 3 ORIENT-12 study, at 42 centers in China, randomized patients with previously untreated locally advanced or metastatic squamous NSCLC to sintilimab (anti-PD-1) plus platinum and gemcitabine or placebo plus platinum and gemcitabine. The progression-free survival was longer in the sintilimab group compared to the placebo group (HR 0.536; p<0.0001). The toxicity was acceptable.
