Phase 3 study of 2nd-line axicabtagene ciloleucel versus standard-of-care for R/R LBCL
Dr. Frederick Locke
The multinational phase 3 ZUMA-7 study compared axicabtagene ciloleucel (axi-cel) versus standard of care treatment (SOC) for second-line relapsed or refractory large B-cell lymphoma. Axi-cel demonstrated a statistically significant and clinically meaningful improvement in event-free survival. Axi-cel showed superiority over SOC with > 4-fold greated median EFS, 2.5-fold greater EFS at 2 years, double the CR rate, and more than double the percentage of patients receiving definitive treatment. The safety of axi-cel was manageable and consistent with third-line axi-cel therapy.
