Phase 3 COMPASSION-16 trial of first-line cadonilimab plus chemotherapy with or without bevacizumab for advanced cervical cancer: subgroup analyses

The phase 3 COMPASSION-16 trial, at 59 centers in China, showed that addition of cadonilimab (bispecific antibody targetung PD-1 and CTLA-4) to first-line standard platinum-based chemotherapy with or without bevacizumab significantly improved progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) with a manageable safety profile in participants with persistent, recurrent, or metastatic cervical cancer. Subgroup analysis of the trial has now been published. Subgroups included bevacizumab use, prior concurrent chemoradiotherapy, PD-L1 combined positive score, metastatic disease at baseline, platinum use, and age. With a median follow-up of 25.6 months, addition of cadonilimab was associated with improved PFS and OS in all subgroups. The authors conclude that this analysis confirms that improvements in PFS and OS with cadonilimab are consistent with the primary results of COMPAASION-16 across diverse patient profiles.
