Phase 2 trial of cabozantinib plus nivolumab for non-clear cell renal cell carcinoma

A multicenter phase 2 study evaluated cabozantinib plus nivolumab for advanced non-clear cell renal cell carcinoma. In the cohort with patients with RCC with papillary, unclassified, or translocation associated histologies, the ORR was 48%, while another 50% of patients had stable disease. The median PFS was 12.5 months, and the median OS was 28 months. There was no activity in the cohort of patients with chromophobe RCC. The safety profile was acceptable.
