Phase 2 study of frontline acalabrutinib, venetoclax, and obinutuzumab for CLL
Dr. Matthew Davids
Both continuous therapy with acalabrutinib and fixed-duration therapy with venetoclax-obinutuzumab are effective for previously untreated chronic lymphocytic leukemia. A phase 2 study at Dana-Faber Cancer Institute and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (both in Boston, MA) evaluated frontline time-limited, minimal residual disease-guided triplet therapy with acalabrutinib, venetoclax, and obinutuzumab for CLL. The therapy was highly active and well tolerated, with a high proportion of patients who had undetectable MRD in the bone marrow.
