Phase 2 study of first-line pegylated liposomal doxorubicin plus ifosfamide for advanced/metastatic soft tissue sarcoma

A single-arm phase 2 trial at Fudan University (Shanghai, China) evaluated first-line pegylated liposomal doxorubicin (PLD) combined with ifosfamide (IFO) for advanced or metastatic soft tissue sarcoma (A/M STS). The combination was well-tolerated, without grade 3 or higher cardiotoxicity. Median progression-free and overall survival were 7.3 months (95% CI 5.7-8.9) and 20.6 months (95% CI 16.3-25.0), respectively. The authors conclude that the first-line combination of PLD and IFO for A/M STS was effective and well-tolerated.
