Phase 2 study of first-line cabozantinib for metastatic collecting duct renal cell carcinoma
Prof. Giuseppe Procopio
Metastatic collecting duct renal cell carcinoma (mCDC) is a rare type of non-clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ncRCC) with poor prognosis and no standard treatments. Retrospective series that have documented the benefit of cabozantinib in ncRCC. The phase 2 BONSAI study at the Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori (Milan, Italy) evaluated first-line cabozantinib for mCDC. The study met the ORR primary end point, showing encouraging efficacy of cabozantinib in untreated patients with mCDC.
