Olutasidenib (FT-2102) is an oral inhibitor of mutant IDH1. A multinational phase 1-2 trial evaluated olutasidenib, as monotherapy or in combination with azacitidine, for IDH1-mutated AML or MDS. Phase 1 results of the trial showed that olutasidenib with or without azacitidine was well tolerated and showed meaningful clinical activity and promising survival results. The authors conclude that these phase 1 results provide rationale for continued evaluation of olutasidenib in multiple patient populations with myeloid malignancies.
