Patient-reported outcomes from TALAPRO-2: first-line talazoparib plus enzalutamide versus placebo plus enzalutamide for mCRPC
Dr. Nobuaki Matsubara
The multinational phase 3 TALAPRO-2 trial evaluated addition of talazoparib versus placebo to first-line enzalutamide for metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). Significant improvement of radiographic progression-free survival in the talazoparib plus enzalutamide group compared with the placebo plus enzalutamide group was reported previously. Patient-reported outcomes from TALAPRO-2 have now been published. Median time to definitive deterioration of global health status/quality of life was longer with talazoparib plus enzalutamide versus placebo plus enzalutamide (median 30.8 months versus 25.0 months; HR 0.78; p=0.038). The authors conclude that these results, together with the clinical efficacy data, inform the risk-benefit assessment of talazoparib plus enzalutamide in patients with mCRPC in TALAPRO-2.
