The multinational phase 3 DESTINY-Breast04 trial evaluated trastuzumab deruxtecan (T-DXd) versus physician’s choice of chemotherapy for HER2-low metatatic breast cancer. Longer PFS and OS with T-DXd was reported in 2022. Patient-reported outcomes from the trial have now been published. Time to definitive deterioration of global health status/ quality of life (A), pain (B), and physical functioning (C) was longer with T-DXd compared with chemotherapy. The authors conclude that these findings reinforce the benefit of T-DXd as an option for patients with HER2-low mBC.
