The multinational phase 3 MAIA study randomized transplant-ineligible patients with newly diagnosed multiple myeloma to daratumumab-lenalidomide-dexamethasone (D-Rd; n=368) or Rd (n=369). After median follow-up of 56.2 months there was a statistically significant and clinically meaningful improvement of overall survival with D-Rd versus Rd, representing a 32% reduction in the risk of death. The significant progression-free survival benefit seen at the primary analysis (median follow-up 28 months) was maintained.
