Overall survival with first-line atezolizumab plus bevacizumab versus sunitinib for metastatic renal cell carcinoma

Interim analyses of the multinational phase 3 IMmotion151 trial reported improved PFS with atezolizumab-bevacizumab versus sunitinib for patients with PD-L1 positive metastatic renal cell carcinoma, while OS results were immature. The final OS analysis has now been published. The analysis did not find better OS with atezolizumab-bevacizumab compared to sunitinib. Exploratory biomarker analyses provided insight into which patients with mRCC may benefit from combined anti-PD-L1 and anti-VEGF therapy.
