The multicenter phase 2 NADIM trial in Spain has shown that neoadjuvant chemotherapy plus nivolumab was effective in resectable phase IIIA non-small cell lung cancer. The 3-year overall survival analysis of the trial has now been published. The median PFS and OS were not reached. The OS at 36 months was 81.9% in the ITT-population (n=46) and 91.0% in the PP-population (41 patients who underwent resection). Low pretreatment levels of ctDNA were significantly associated with improved PFS and OS. Undetectable ctDNA after neoadjuvant treatment also was associated with improved PFS and OS. The authors conclude that the efficacy of neoadjuvant nivolumab plus chemotherapy in resectable NSCLC was supported by 3-year OS.
