Outcomes with first-line therapies for real-world nsqNSCLC patients with brain metastases at diagnosis
Dr. Elvire Pons-Tostivint
Although brain metastases (BMs) at diagnosis are common in non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer (nsqNSCLC) patients, these patients have been mostly excluded from randomized trials. A retrospective study in France evaluated first-line treatments for nsqNSCLC patients with BMs at diagnosis. The study found that, compared with first-line chemotherapy, first-line immune checkpoint inhibitors with or without chemotherapy were associated with better overall survival. The intracranial progression-free survival also was better with first-line immune checkpoint inhibitors with or without chemotherapy compared with first-line chemotherapy alone.
