A retrospective cohort study at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center found that a notable proportion of patients with brain metastasis from gastroesophageal adenocarcinoma achieve survival 1 and 2 years after diagnosis of brain metastasis, a more favorable prognosis than previously reported. ERBB2 positivity and amplification as well as PTPRT alterations were enriched in brain metastasis tissue compared with primary tumors.
