OS impact of addition of bone resorption inhibitors to first-line abiraterone-prednisone for mCRPC with bone metastases
Dr. Edoardo Francini
A retrospective cohort study in 8 centers in Europe and North America evaluated the OS impact of adding bone resorption inhibitors to first line abiraterone acetate plus prednisone for mCRPC with bone metastases. The OS was significantly longer among the patients receiving BRIs plus abiraterone acetate plus prednisone compared to the patients receiving only abiraterone acetate plus prednisone. The OS benefit with BRIs was strongest among patients with high-volume disease. The BRI cohort also had a significantly shorter time to first skeletal-related event compared with the abiraterone acetate cohort.
