Olaparib tablets maintenance therapy for platinum-sensitive relapsed ovarian cancer in patients with a BRCA1/2-mutation

The multinational phase 3 study SOLO2/ENGOT-Ov21 randomized patients with platinum-sensitive relapsed high-grade ovarian cancer and a BRCA1/2 mutation to olaparib tablets or placebo as maintenance therapy. The median OS was 51.7 months with olaparib versus 38.8 months with placebo (HR 0.74; p=0.054), unadjusted for the 38% of the patients in the placebo group who received PARP inhibitors after progression.
