In the primary analysis of the multinational phase III OlympiaD trial, olaparib significantly prolonged progression-free survival versus chemotherapy treatment of physician’s choice (TPC) in patients with germline BRCA-mutated (gBRCAm), HER2-negative metastatic breast cancer (mBC). Subgroup analyses have now been reported at a median OS follow-up of 18.9 months (olaparib) and 15.5 months (TPC). Median PFS favoured olaparib over TPC in the subgroups with TNBC, HR-positive BC, BRCA1-mutated disease, BRCA2-mutated disease, visceral/CNS metastatic disease, non-visceral metastatic disease, prior chemotherapy for mBC, no prior chemotherapy for mBC, prior platinum-based chemotherapy for BC, no prior platinum-based chemotherapy for BC, progressive disease at randomization, and no progressive disease at randomization. Global health status/health-related quality of life increased in all subgroups with olaparib versus decrease or no change with TPC.
