Nivolumab and AVD for early-stage unfavorable classical Hodgkin lymphoma: final analysis of phase 2 NIVAHL trial
Dr. Paul Bröckelmann
The multicenter phase 2 NIVAHL trial in Germany evaluated sequential or concomitant nivolumab and AVD combinations, followed by involved-site radiotherapy, for previously untreated early-stage unfavorable classical Hodgkin lymphoma. Preplanned final analysis of the trial, after a median follow-up of 41 months, found 100% overall survival in both groups and 98% and 100% progression-free survival after sequential treatment and concomitant treatment, respectively. No second primary malignancies occurred, and most adverse events were grade 1 or 2. The patient-reported quality of life improved over time. The authors conclude that this therapeutic approach had outstanding efficacy and relatively favorable safety.
