Neoadjuvant pertuzumab and trastuzumab plus atezolizumab and docetaxel for stage II/III HER2-positive breast cancer

Addition of immune checkpoint inhibitors to anti-HER2 treatment has show synergistic efficacy in preclinical studies. The multicenter phase 2 Neo-PATH trial in South-Korea evaluated the neoadjuvant combination of atezolizumab, pertuzumab, trastuzumab, and docetaxel for stage II or III HER2-positive breast cancer. The treatment had favorable activity with modest toxic effects.
